This website is about improving eyesight naturally. The basis for this method of vision improvement is a book written by opthalmologist W.H. Bates, ‘Perfect Sight Without Glasses’. I read the book online for free when I first started the method in 2007: http://www.central-fixation.com
I reviewed this book chapter by chapter in my blog. I think both the posts that I wrote and the comments from other people following along are equally important. All posts relating to the book club are marked by the book club category and can be found by clicking on this link:
http://sorrisi.wordpress.com/category/book-club/ The first entry for the book club is April 30, 2009. Feel free to comment on the older entries, I will still see your comments!
You may find it helpful to keep a journal of your experiences while you read the book because the book guides you through many methods of eyesight improvement. His method is that employed by the human body: using rest and relaxation to promote healing in the body, while also giving tips on techniques that teach proper vision habits. The most benefit will be gained from reading the book if you try out his suggestions. Of course, only try what you are comfortable with.
For tips on printing and using a Snellen chart, see my ‘Snellen Chart’ page.
Here are some suggestions for reading and discussion:
Read each chapter with a friend. Do only 1-2 chapters per week.
Over the weekend, read the chapter or article. If it’s a suggestion for practice – try it! After you try it, write down anything you experienced. Then read it again and think about it – did you follow all instructions? If you failed, did you ask someone with perfect sight to help you? Don’t be shy!
Reflect on whether this will be a useful method for you now, or if it’s something to come back to later (many aspects of the Bates method didn’t work for me until I had already experienced some improvement with other techniques).
If it is a good technique for you (it relaxes you or you noticed an immediate improvement to vision), then think of creative ways for building it into your daily routine. Share these ideas with your partner so you can build on each other’s creativity.
One thing I’ve found invaluable is keeping a very small notebook with me where I keep one reminder per page on anything that helps my vision improve (palming 5 minutes every hour, breathing deeply, etc).
I look forward to hearing about your experiences!

I love the book club idea!
The Fundamental Principle article is great! Very clear, professional description of Bates teaching.
Easy to learn directions.
I am providing a link to Sorrisi blog and book club for all my readers.
